Chemistry is all around us. It’s the study of matter—and it’s central to all other forms of science. Industries of all types rely on chemistry, from farms and pharmaceuticals to forensics and food processing.
A Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry prepares you for immediate career opportunities in education or industry, or provides a solid foundation for graduate or professional school. The Chemistry and Biochemistry Department has been approved by the American Chemical Society (ACS) since 1971 and offers ACS-certified degrees in chemistry and biochemistry.
The department works with the Department of Teacher Education to offer teacher certification in chemistry, physical science and composite science.
